What a great meet at Regionals!

Fantastic job at Regionals for all of our swimmers. We picked up 2 Zone cuts, 32 additional individual State cuts, won 21 individual events and 4 relays, and broke 2 Team records. Not too bad for a 3 day meet! Since all groups were represented at this meet I thought you would enjoy reading the recaps by all the coaches.

Waves and Ripples

The results are in from the regional meet and the kids all did an amazing job! Congratulation to all the swimmers! We are so proud of you all! We loved watching the improvement and progress of each and every one of you this whole season, and we are excited for the spring and fall! We know there will be many kids with state cuts next year.

Our swimmer of the meet in the ripples group is: Claire Poll

Claire had a wonderful meet! She improved her 50 free by 2+ seconds, and swam the 100 free and 100 breast for the first time. Her strokes looked beautiful and she's ready to move up to the waves group. Great job Claire!!!!!!!!!

Our swimmers of the meet in the waves group are: Willow O'Keefe, Sophia Shai, and Paige Wulliger

Willow had a wonderful meet! She improved her 50 back by 6+ seconds, 100 IM by 5+ seconds, 100 free and 50 free by 1+ seconds, and swam the 200 IM and 100 breast for the first time.

Sophia had an outstanding meet as well! She dropped 5 seconds in the 100 free, 4+ seconds in the 100 IM, almost 2 seconds in the 50 breast, had improvements in the 50 fly & 50 free and swam the 100 back, 100 breast and 200 IM for the first time.

Paige also had a fabulous meet! She dropped almost 9 seconds in the 100 IM, 3+ seconds in the 100 free, 2+ seconds in the 50 back, 1+ seconds in the 50 free, 50 breast & 100 breast, and swam the 200 IM for the first time. Super job Willow, Sophia, & Paige!!!!!!!!!!

We had two more records broken at the meet. Janessa broke the 100 breast record by 5 1/2 seconds and Miranda broke her 100 free record. Great job girls!!!!!!!!!!

Tsunami

What an amazing showing from the Tsunami group! All of your hard work and dedication paid off at the Regional Meet. We had 126 swims and 86 personal best - 68.3%! I saw improvement in our strokes and turns which we have been working on at practice. Many of you tried new events and even swam for the first time in a new age group.

While most of you will be enjoying a few weeks off, a few of our swimmers will be swimming at the State Meet and at the Barbara Kay Mini Meet - WISH THEM LUCK!

See you all in a few weeks! Coach Colleen

Mary Lou Mini Meet!

Hi Waves and Ripples,
What another fabulous meet we had this past weekend!!!!!!!!! We had a lot of time drops and some big ones at that. I think the kids all had fun and that is so important at their ages. As we get ready for our championship meets, please make sure they are getting plenty of rest, are eating healthy and getting to practices.
Our swimmers of the meet for the ripple group are: Sheridan Young, Leigha Zunich, and Wyatt Ross.
Sheridan had a great meet! She dropped 2 seconds in the back, 8 seconds in the breast and won her heat. Leigha has beautiful strokes and she showed her racing skills this weekend. She dropped time in all her events, swam all four events, and won her heat. Wyatt loves to race and he definitely did this weekend. He dropped 4+ seconds in the fly, 2+ in the free, 5 seconds in the back, and won the breast. Way to go Sheridan, Leigha, and Wyatt!
Our swimmers of the meet for the waves groups are: Makenzie Scholten & Andrew Bernsdorf.
Makenzie had a wonderful meet! She dropped 2+ seconds in the 100 IM, and she improved in 3 other events. She has been working hard and it's paying off. Andrew had an awesome meet too! He has been working hard on his strokes and it showed in the meet. He dropped 5+ seconds in the 100 IM, improved in 2 other events, and won the 25 fly. Great job Makenzie and Andrew!
Miranda Donley once again broke more team records. She broke India's Sherman's 100 IM record by 5 seconds, Rachel Jackson's 25 back record and lowered her own 25 free and 25 fly record. Way to go Miranda!
